Midlands EMS Howick crews were dispatched to the R617, just past Mphophomeni, for a reported motor vehicle accident.<\/p>\n
On arrival at the scene, emergency services found that a single vehicle had been involved in the accident. Two occupants had been ejected from the vehicle during the crash.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, both patients had sustained severe injuries and showed no signs of life. They were assessed by emergency medical personnel and were declared deceased on the scene.<\/p>\n
The exact circumstances surrounding the accident are not known at this stage and will be investigated by the relevant authorities.<\/p>\n
Authorities were in attendance and the necessary procedures were initiated at the scene.<\/p>\n
Emergency services also noted signs of sleet and snow in the area at the time of the incident, with the weather conditions contributing to reduced visibility and potentially slippery road surfaces.<\/p>\n
