The Acts will roll out in the municipalities listed in the proclamations on 1 July 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The proclamations provide for the implementation of the original AARTO Act in 60 municipalities across the country. The AARTO Amendment Act will be implemented in 62 municipalities, as the amendments are also introduced in Tshwane and Johannesburg, which are already part of the AARTO system.<\/p>\n<p>No municipalities in the Western Cape are currently included in the list.<\/p>\n<p>Please see the list below.<\/p>\n<p>Further rollout of AARTO is planned for 2027 and will provide for nationwide implementation, including the Points Demerit System.<\/p>\n<p>The Gazette date is 29 June 2026, and the Gazette numbers are 54917 and 54918.
