A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the R102 near Walter Reid Road, Tongaat – KZN, today (Saturday, 27\/06\/2026).<\/p>\n

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene after receiving multiple calls from the public reporting the collision.<\/p>\n

Reaction Officers found a white Hyundai Grand i10 that had left the roadway, collided with a traffic signal and came to rest in a nearby bush.<\/p>\n

It was alleged that the driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, had been travelling at a high speed when the vehicle struck a pedestrian before attempting to flee the scene. The driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle and crashed. The allegation that the driver was under the influence of alcohol could not be independently confirmed at the scene.<\/p>\n

The driver sustained a minor head injury. The pedestrian sustained fractures to both his legs and was treated on scene before being transported to a medical facility for further treatment….<\/p>\n
