{"id":46853,"date":"2026-05-24T22:45:27","date_gmt":"2026-05-24T20:45:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/media\/accidents\/motor-vehicle-collision-on-allan-road-in-glen-austin\/"},"modified":"2026-05-24T22:45:27","modified_gmt":"2026-05-24T20:45:27","slug":"motor-vehicle-collision-on-allan-road-in-glen-austin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/media\/accidents\/motor-vehicle-collision-on-allan-road-in-glen-austin\/","title":{"rendered":"Motor vehicle collision on Allan Road in Glen Austin."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday evening at around 23:15 our Centurion crew responded to a motor vehicle collision on Allan Road in Glen Austin.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival on scene, crews found that a single vehicle had veered off the roadway and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof inside a storm water drain.<\/p>\n<p>The driver was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be extricated using hydraulic rescue equipment, commonly known as the &ldquo;Jaws of Life&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>Miraculously, the patient sustained only minor to moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n<p>The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear and are subject to investigation.<\/p>\n<p>A special thank you to the City of Joburg EMS, Netcare911, Emer-G-Med (Pty) Ltd, Care well EMS &#8211; Emergency Medical Services, Gauteng Emergency Medical Services, and all other emergency services on scene for their assistance and teamwork.
