Technology Amplifies Teamwork <\/p>\n

Strong teamwork and the right tools made all the difference on Saturday afternoon, as Wilderness Search And Rescue WSAR Western Cape crews, together with SANParks – Table Mountain National Park Rangers and SEAM Team members, assisted a 36-year-old local hiker who slipped and injured herself while descending from Lion's Head towards the Signal Hill Kramat. <\/p>\n

The injured hiker was treated by a Western Cape Government Health and Wellness EMS paramedic before being secured into a stretcher fitted with the Cascade Rescue Company Terra Tamer stretcher wheel – allowing rescuers to move more efficiently and reduce time while carrying the patient down the steep terrain. <\/p>\n

She was handed over to an ambulance and transported to hospital. <\/p>\n

The incident concluded shortly before 15h00.<\/p>\n

We thank all teams involved for their coordinated effort and wish the injured hiker a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n
