Three visiting hikers from Bangladesh found themselves in a spot of trouble on Monday evening after their Table Mountain adventure turned cold and misty.<\/p>\n

The group set off from Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden around 15h00, planning to climb Skeleton Gorge and descend using the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway. <\/p>\n

By 19h15 they had reached the Aqueduct Trail, but fading light, windy, misty conditions and a lack of warm clothing, left them unable to continue safely.<\/p>\n

Recognising that conditions had turned serious and they could no longer continue safely, the group did the right thing and called the emergency number – 021 937 0300.<\/p>\n

Wilderness Search And Rescue teams were activated, meeting at Constantia Nek before heading up to the Hely-Hutchinson Reservoir. From there they quickly hiked up the Aqueduct Trail, locating the cold but grateful hikers shortly after 21h30. <\/p>\n

The trio was assessed, given warm clothing, food and water, and then guided down to a waiting SANParks…<\/p>\n
