{"id":10753,"date":"2018-10-17T04:32:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-17T02:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/media\/?p=10753"},"modified":"2018-10-17T04:32:00","modified_gmt":"2018-10-17T02:32:00","slug":"two-pedestrians-killed-in-accident-near-ermelo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/media\/accidents\/two-pedestrians-killed-in-accident-near-ermelo\/","title":{"rendered":"Two pedestrians killed in accident near Ermelo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man and woman, both believed to be in their 30s, were killed last night when they were knocked over by a light motor vehicle on the N2, approximately 3km outside of Ermelo, towards Piet Retief.<\/p>\n<p>ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial EMS, arrived on the scene shortly after 19h00 to find a light motor vehicle on the side of the road. <\/p>\n<p>The body of a woman was found in the road while the body of a man was found approximately 20 metres away in a ditch.<\/p>\n<p>Paramedics assessed both patients and found that they had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped injury.<\/p>\n<p>Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.<\/p>\n<p>South Africa Today &#8211; South Africa News &#8211; Accident<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man and woman, both believed to be in their 30s, were killed last night when they were knocked over by a light motor vehicle on the N2, approximately 3km outside of Ermelo, towards Piet Retief.
