
Update on Joe Astle, the 24-year-old who was shot in the face during a farm attack on Christmas day. A doctor from Johannesburg removed the bullet/shrapnel from his neck at the Tshepong Hospital. He will have to undergo further operations at a private hospital, and the cost is approximately R750 000. So far donations of R600 000 have been received. Joe Astle has a Facebook page and on December 30 posted:
With God’s loving and caring hands, the prayers of thousands of his followers and believing in the absolute insane is possible me, my mom, my Grandmother and Grandfather has survived this attack.
I’m getting to go home and recuperate until my mouth surgery and reconstruction, my mom is going home soon as well, bionic woman with a metal rod in her arm and Granny and Grandpa just awaiting test results before a long overdue relaxation with family away from the farm.
