Woman brutally attacked at Centurion station

Boere Krisis Aksie

I want to warn all Gautrain users to be careful when you leave the station or walk to the station. I just posted a warning last week about incidents in Sandton.

Saturday afternoon a woman was attacked at the Centurion station. She was literally attacked with a smile and with a pocketknife, while others sat on the sidewalkand watched.

We stopped at that point and helped her. She sustained very deep wounds all over her arm and hand. She underwent emergency surgery and the doctor had to prepare her for amputation if he could not reattach the tendons.

Two things stood out for me during the experience:
1. Nobody is safe from the savagery and cruelty out there. This woman could not understand why the man attacked her like this, after she had greeted him kindly.

2. Training prepared me and Gawie to take control of the situation and to apply fast accurate emergency aid.

Below photo of the attack.
