
Two suspects shot dead and another two injured during a shootout in Durban CBD on Friday, September 23. Apparently, one of the suspects was a member of the South African Flying Squad.
While PSI guards were on duty at a supermarket, the suspects entered the premises, kidnapped the guards, and dropped them in Isipingo. The suspects cut the safe open and stole all the money.
At the same time, the police were patrolling and spotted a white Toyota Etos that was marked as a stolen vehicle. The suspects opened fire and police retaliated.
The suspects lost control of their vehicle and rolled it. The police seized two unlicensed firearms and electrical detonators.
While busy at the crime scene, the police noticed a suspicious black Polo vehicle driving slowly pass and stopped the car. The vehicle was searched and the police uncovered an unlicensed firearm and airtime vouchers. The two suspects have been detained.
