Three-vehicle collision leaves two dead, at least ten injured in Phola

Two men have been killed and at least ten others injured following a collision between a bakkie, taxi, and light motor vehicle on the R545 in Phola, Witbank, last night.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the taxi and light motor vehicle in the middle of the road. The bakkie was found on its side a few metres away.

On closer inspection, medics found that two men, one being the driver of the taxi, had sustained numerous fatal injuries. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.

At least ten other patients were tended to on the scene. Assessments showed that the injuries sustained ranged from minor to critical.

The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured provided with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations….
