The Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence continues on 19 February

The public hearings of the Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence in the Gauteng province will continue on Wednesday, 19 February 2020 at 10:00.

The Commission will hear testimony from the Chairperson of Transport Appeals Tribunal (TAT), Mr Matome Masuku, on Wednesday, 19 February 2020, at 10:00.

Mr Masuku’s testimony will focus on the legislative mandate of the Transport Appeal Tribunal (TAT) in relation to the minibus taxi-type service industry. He will further allude to the legislative processes followed by TAT in adjudicating appeals lodged against the decision/s of the Provincial Regulatory Entities (PREs).

The legal team is in the process of identifying and/or consulting with other witnesses who will appear before the Commission over the next few weeks.
