Taxi overturns leaving eighteen injured in Umkomaas Vally

Eighteen people were left injured this afternoon, including six children, when the taxi they were traveling in overturned on the R56 in Umkomaas Vally, KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene to find the taxi on its side on the side of the road. Several passengers had been ejected from the vehicle and were now found scattered around the scene.

Medics assessed the patients and found that one person had sustained critical injuries while seventeen others had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

Medics treated the patients and provided the critically injured with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations….
