Taxi crashes into tree leaving eleven injured in Vanderbijlpark

Eleven people were left injured yesterday afternoon, one of them seriously when a taxi crashed into a tree at the R42 and Andries Potgieter Road intersection in Vanderbijlpark.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 17h00 to find the taxi against a tree on the side of the road. The passengers had already climbed out of the vehicle and were now found seated on the side of the road.

Medics assessed the patients and found that eleven people had been injured, one of them seriously.

The patients were treated for their injuries, and the seriously injured provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to local hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
