Six people were left injured yesterday afternoon when a taxi crashed into a streetlight on 18th Avenue in Kensington, Western Cape.
ER24 personnel arrived on the scene at 15h11 to find the taxi on the side of the road against a streetlight. The passengers had already climbed out of the vehicle and were found seated on the pavement.
Medics assessed the patients and found that six people, including two children, had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
