Spate of accidents continue to concern the RTMC

Five occupants on Sunday morning died in a horrific car accident when their car, Toyota Tazz single overturned along P288 road at upper Tugela in KwaZulu-Natal. 

Spokesperson for the Road Traffic Management Corporation, Simon Zwane said “It’s is alleged that the driver of the Toyota lost control and the vehicle overturned, crashing into a tree; killing all occupants in the vehicle”. 

The crash investigation and reconstruction experts from RTMC have been already deployed to the scene to determine the exact cause of the accident in order to advice the Head of the department in KZN on what actions to be taken to avoid a similar crash happening.

On Friday we experienced a horrific head on collission on N11 Road between Middleburg and Hendrina were nine people were killed on impact.

The nine were all passengers in the mini bus taxi. Eight of the deceased were burnt beyond recognition. They are believed to be employees at a nearby mine.

The spate of accidents continue to concern the RTMC and we urge road users to exercise caution on the roads.
