Pedestrian knocked through wall in Pietermaritzburg

A man believed to be in his 40s was sent flying through a wall when a taxi collided with a lamp post and then him on the corner of Manning Avenue and Royston road in Pietermaritzburg this evening.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 17:53 to find the man on the other side of a wall. He had suffered multiple injuries and was treated with Advanced Life Support interventions before being transported to Greys Hospital.
The driver of the taxi had also suffered moderate injuries and was being questioned by the police.

The local traffic department was also on the scene for further investigations.
