Just after 3pm today ALS Paramedics Pietermaritzburg responded to a multi-vehicle collision on the R33 towards Greytown. Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the extensively damaged vehicles in the roadway. A taxi, bakkie, and car were involved in the collision.
A quick triage was set up and a total of eight patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical. Immediately more ambulances and Advanced Life Support Paramedics were dispatched to assist.
ALS Paramedics transported a critically injured 15-year-old female to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that she required.
All patients were transported by Ambulance to various hospitals.
At this stage the events leading up to the collision are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further
