The Minister of Transport Mr. Fikile Mbalula will deliver a keynote address at the opening of the two-day Provincial Lekgotla in North West that will take place from 22-23 October 2020. The North West Provincial Taxi Lekgotla has been organised by the North West provincial government in partnership with the National Department of Transport.
MEC for Community Safety and Transport Management Mr. Sello Lehari will also officiate during the program.
The provincial lekgotla is part of the National Taxi Lekgotla program championed by the Department of Transport at the national level. It was preceded by the District Makgotla hosted in different districts in the province.
The aim of the Lekgotla is to harness discussion of proposals to empower taxi operators to ensure that the taxi business becomes professionalised, profitable, and sustainable with owners benefiting in the total value chain of the industry.
