Fifteen injured in single taxi rollover in Leandra

Fifteen people have been injured, two critically, in a single taxi rollover on the R50, Leandra, Mpumalanga, this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 16:00 along with Provincial EMS, another private EMS, as well the Fire and Traffic Departments. Some of the passengers are believed to have been ejected from the vehicle as it rolled down an embankment, but most were able to self extricate from the wreck and were walking or sitting on-scene. Three men between the ages of 25 and 30 were treated with Advanced Life Support interventions – two were found to have suffered critical injuries and the third, serious injuries. ER24 transported them as well as three other moderately injured adults to Evander Provincial Hospital for further care.

Three patients were treated and transported by the other private medical service on-scene for moderate injuries and Provincial treated and transported five patients who had suffered minor injuries. All are believed to have been adults.
