Fifteen injured in multiple vehicle collision at intersection in the Allandale suburb outside Pietermaritzburg.

Fifteen people were injured this evening following a collision between three light motor vehicles and a taxi at the intersection of Allandale Road and the R33 in the Allandale suburb outside Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived at 17:20 to find the South African Police Service in attendance and most of the people involved walking around the scene. The driver of the taxi, a middle aged male and one of the passengers, also a middle aged male, had suffered moderate injuries and were treated before being transported to Northdale and Greys hospitals respectively. The other 13 adult patients had all suffered minor injuries, were treated and transported to various hospitals in the area for further care.

The Traffic department as well as SAPS were on scene for further investigations.
