Eleven injured in taxi head-on collision in Etwatwa, East of Benoni

Eleven people have been injured in a head-on collision between two taxis on Eiselen Street, Etwatwa, east of Benoni.

ER24 paramedics arrived at 19:15. Provincial Emergency Medical Services as well as the Fire Department were already on-scene. The Fire Department was needed to extract one of the drivers from the wreckage, while all the other patients were already sitting on the curb being assessed, having been helped to safety. All the injured were adults and all were found to have suffered moderate injuries. Provincial medics treated and transport four patients, while ER24 treated six women and one man before transporting six to Far East Rand Hospital and one to a private hospital in the area for further care.
