Drug arrest after stop-and-search of taxi in Prince Alfred Hamlet


As part of the Safer Festive Season operations, a Vehicle Checkpoint (VCP) was conducted on Wednesday, 19 December 2018 at 13:20 in the Prince Alfred Hamlet area.

Members of Prince Alfred Hamlet SAPS pulled over a taxi on the R303 road en-route to Op-Die-Berg (PA Hamlet to Citrusdal Road). They searched the taxi and its occupants. One of the passengers had a plastic bag on his lap, and when the bag was opened members found drugs in it.

•         503 Boss MX tablets with an estimated street value of R30 000

•         105 Grams of Tik with an estimated street value of R15 000

A 44-year-old suspect was arrested and he will appear in the Ceres Magistrate’s Court today, 20 December 2018 on charges of possession of drugs.
