Cyclist struck by bus, left critically injured in Table View

A 49-year-old man was left critically injured this morning when he was struck by a bus on Marine Drive in Table View in the Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics, Life Healthcare and Western Cape Metro arrived on the scene at 08h01 to find the man lying in the middle of the road. The bus that had struck the man was found parked approximately 200 metres away.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition.

The man was treated for his injuries and was provided with advanced life support interventions before he was transported to a private hospital for urgent treatment.

Six people from the bus were assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries. They were treated and thereafter transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations….
