Six people were left injured this morning when a taxi crashed into the center median on the R300 in Bottelary in the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, were dispatched to the scene at 05h00. Upon arrival, paramedics found the taxi parked in the left-hand emergency lane.
One patient was found seated in the taxi while the remaining patients were found lying behind the vehicle. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two patients had sustained serious injuries while four others had sustained only minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to various provincial hospitals for further treatment.
The exact cause of the incident is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
