Bakkie and taxi collide leaving at least seven children injured in Pietermaritzburg

At least seven children, aged between 3 and 8, were left injured this morning following a collision between a bakkie and taxi on Edendale Road in Pietermaritzburg.
ER24 medics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 07h15 to find the taxi and bakkie in the road. The children had already climbed out of both of the vehicle and were found on the side of the road.
On closer inspection, medics found that at least seven children had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found on the scene.
The children were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further queries.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
