Three teenage females have been killed and another critically injured in a horrific crash on Dumisanya Makhanya Road near the VN Naik School for the Deaf in Newlands East Durban this morning.
Just after 07:15 Rescue Care Paramedics responded to the serious crash and on arrival found carnage. Four teenagers on their way to school had been hit by a taxi whilst crossing the road. Three of the four had sustained major injuries and unfortunately there was nothing more Paramedics could do for them and they were declared deceased on the scene. One female had sustained critical injuries and was stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being rushed through to a nearby Hospital for the further care that she required. All the teenagers were females.
The roadway was closed for sometime whilst SAPS investigated the cause of the collision.
At this stage the events leading up to the collision is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
