13 Injured in Shongweni rear-end crash

Thirteen people have been injured after the taxi they were travelling in was rear ended by a Truck on the N3 Durban Bound before Marianhill Toll Plaza on Wednesday morning.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene just before 12pm to find multiple patients lying on the busy freeway. Immediately more ambulances were dispatched to assist. A total of Thirteen people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious and were stabilised on the scene. Once stabilised the injured were then transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

The fast lane was closed whilst emergency personal worked to clear the scene.

At this stage the cause of the collision is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
