The World is focused on sustainable development and education is the key. South Africa’s path to a sustainable future lies with the National Development Plan (NDP) 2030.

EduWeek, a firm supporter of the United Nation’s 17 SDG’s and South Africa’s NDP’s, is a two-day exhibition and conference, returns to the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg on the 12th and 13th of July 2017.

EduWeek sees the role of technology in Education as a critical one and it is the aim of the event to ensure that technology is being integrated into the curriculum delivery process. The role of the teacher and the lecturer is at the heart of successful use of technology and that is why technology has become a focus on the event’s calendar to aid educators in understanding how best to integrate this tool into the classroom, now and into the future.

Leading Education technology provider VastraTech has partnered with EduWeek as the headline sponsor of the event and will showcase its latest developments in innovation, and technology for inclusive education.

Technology’s role in education is undisputed — it is certainly viewed as an effective means to enable both student and teacher in creating a more engaging learning environment. In South Africa currently, where improving education is a nationwide concern, the role of technology is not just a luxury, but perhaps a much-needed solution.

This year, the conference rooms at EduWeek will be using Smartboards courtesy of VastraTech. Talking specifically about the educational domain, Smart products are all poised to create a sustainable future for the young ones.

The Vastratech stand will be a buzz of activity, running #tellyourstory campaign, whereby educators will share their stories on using technology in the classroom and the winner will walk away with a Kapp Board.

“The stand will also a ground breaking classroom technology showcase of science & Maths classroom solutions which include SMART boards & software, Nureva collaboration products and Leybold experiments for Science equipment”, says Candice Du Preez, COO at Vastratech.

Having chosen the theme Education: Africa’s path to a sustainable future  EduWeek will continue to advance educational knowledge in Africa and have committed to promote education’s impact to achieving the UN’s 17 SDG’s and South Africa’s NDP

The event will host over 180 local and international product & service providers, seven dedicated EduTheatre/conference tracks and 5,500 visitors.

Another highlight of the EduWeek calendar is the EduWeek Awards which take place on the evening of the 12th July.
