www.wedded.co.za has won the award for the ‘Best South African wedding industry platform-2019’. The award was announced on 29 April 2019, by the MEA African business excellence awards committee.
Wedded is an online wedding guide that took the wedding industry by storm in January 2018. The success of the guide has been attributed to a number of factors, the most noticeable one being its affordability and this coupled with amazing features and ease of use, the website has taken off and been growing at an amazing rate.
The guide is an amazing easy tool for ‘brides to be’, grooms, the entire bridal party and their families, who can find what they are looking for in an area close to them. The website covers all aspects of wedding related suppliers including wedding venues, bridal wear, suits, caterers, flowers, transport, décor, photography, jewelry, gifts, equipment, entertainment cakes, makeup and hair stylists, officiates, videographers, honeymoons and salons.
The innovation was developed by Arnold du Plessis, who also owns the graphic and website design business ADB WEBZ; he created the website to be both user friendly and to showcase wedding industry businesses in a way that gives them maximum exposure in a simple listing that links to all of the client’s social media platforms and websites.
This has proved to be invaluable for both smaller businesses, which are not in a position to have their own website and also to major players in the industry who have seen the potential and growth of this new guide.
A listing on the website can easily be created and managed by the client themselves or it can all be done by the wedded team.
There are three options including a ‘List your business for free’ option, which has limited information. The second option works out at only R50 per month and the third, the full package, only R75 per month, paid as an annual subscription.
Changes to the listing are made free of charge during the year and any events can be posted for free on the home page. Articles of interest can be posted in the blog section and both these events and articles are linked to the clients listing.
The MEA African business excellence awards committee looks at the most deserving businesses and individuals based on merit and quality of their products and services offered in the past 12 months.
