Foreign investors interest in South African bonds have dropped so, that only 38.9% of government securities are currently owned by foreigners, which is a decrease of 4% since March 2018.

The optimism of the first quarter with Cyril Ramaphosa’s takeover came with almost R56 billion of securities sold.

South Africa is currently not an attractive option for foreign investors.
