We look forward to growing on the continent.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>At\u00a0the virtual launch,\u00a0Ozhan\u00a0Toktas, Pearson\u2019s MD for Africa and Middle East\u00a0provided\u00a0an overview of Pearson and the role the education institution will be playing in Africa going forward.\u00a0He was joined\u00a0by\u00a0Monk\u00a0who\u00a0discussed\u00a0the value of Pearson PTE. Alongside her, Pearson Head of Market Development Assessment,\u00a0Muna Mazhar provided\u00a0insights on UKIV SELT. Before the final Q&amp;A, Deputy High Commissioner Ben Llewellyn-Jones reiterated\u00a0the importance of these tests and assessments from a UK perspective.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Tests\u00a0are\u00a0delivered through the Pearson VUE\u202ftest\u202fcenter\u202fnetwork. Pearson VUE\u2019s network of test\u202fcenters\u202fhave\u202fimplemented proactive health and safety measures including, but not limited to, readily available hand sanitizer, increased sanitization in high touch areas, and disinfected testing workstations (completed between each test taker) to support the safety of testing candidates and staff.\u202fFace\u00a0masks are required at all Pearson VUE-owned test\u00a0centers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Monk\u00a0says,\u202f\u201c<em>We\u202fcontinue to see\u202fhigh demand\u202ffrom test takers who want to\u202fbook and deliver PTE as a\u202fSecure English Language Test, especially when it comes to applying\u00a0for\u00a0a\u00a0UK Visa and Immigration purposes<\/em>.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0new location\u00a0brings\u00a0Pearson\u2019s\u00a0worldwide\u202ftotal of UKVI approved locations\u00a0close to\u00a0150.\u202fMonk\u00a0says this\u00a0will\u202fhelp\u202fmeet customer demand and give\u00a0Nigerians more\u00a0choice of test locations\u202fas they look\u202fto move to\u00a0the UK to work, study or live.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Pearson\u2019s\u00a0SELT tests\u00a0are\u00a0focused on immigration requirements and the details are\u00a0as follows:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PTE Academic (UKVI) \u2013 a four\u2013skills language test accepted for work and study visas. It tests\u00a0Speaking,\u00a0Writing, Reading and Listening\u00a0skills.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>PTE Home \u2013 a two-skills language test accepted for family, settlement, citizenship applications as well as Sportsperson and Representative of an Overseas Business applications. It tests\u00a0Speaking and\u00a0Listening skills.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PTE Academic is one of the fastest-growing products in Pearson and is a strategic growth priority for the company, posting 17% growth in test volumes last year. The test is already accepted by the Australian and New Zealand Governments for all visa applications.
