Pastor Phillip Mugadza, who rose to prominence after staging a one man protest against President Robert Mugabe\u2019s rule, on Thursday said the 92-year-old leader\u2019s three and half decade rule was coming to an end.<\/p>\n
Mugadza was speaking at the Africa Unity Square in Harare, where he staged the last of his 40-day protests. He said he had planned to erect a wooden cross with the #Mugabe Must Fall inscription on it. The cross was a clear message to Mugabe to make a sacrifice for the people of Zimbabwe and step down.<\/p>\n
The pastor said he and other activists had been praying at the Africa Unity Square every day between 5 and 6 in the evening and said God had answered them.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd now today we are wrapping up the whole thing and we just want to thank the people of Zimbabwe for the successful 40 days. People asked many things about the 40 days but I strongly believe that God is answering and God has answered our prayers. We are going to see things happening, things changing in the nation of Zimbabwe,\u201d Mugadza said.<\/p>\n
Cash-strapped Zimbabwe has been rocked by protests in recent weeks as pressure mounts for the nonagenarian to step down. Mugabe has ruled the country for 36 years.<\/p>\n
