Six people died Friday when gunmen sprayed two
\npassenger buses with bullets in north-eastern Kenya, the newspapers
\nDaily Nation and Standard reported.<\/p>\n

The attack, which the reports attributed to the Somali Islamist group
\nal-Shabaab, occurred between Elwak and Wargadud in Mandera county.<\/p>\n

A police reservist who was on board to escort the passengers was
\namong those killed. Another reservist was injured. Officials were
\nunable to give the total number of injured victims.<\/p>\n

Officials said non-locals living in the county would not be allowed
\nto travel by bus until the end of Ramadan \u2013 which comes next week \u2013
\ndue to the security threat posed by al-Shabaab.<\/p>\n
