Kisumu – A member of the Kisumu County Assembly (MCA) in Kenya, Jacktone Onunga, is pushing for a motion to bar the selling of coffins near hospitals.<\/p>\n

Onunga argued that the presence of coffins next to hospitals induced fear in patients, as it made them feel half-dead.<\/p>\n

However, according to Standard, coffin sellers expressed dissatisfaction with the proposal and accused Onunga of plotting to kick them out of business.<\/p>\n

They said that selling coffins did not mean they celebrated death, and called on the leader to focus on passing “serious motions”.<\/p>\n

But Onunga maintained that he had nothing against coffin sellers, noting that he only wanted to help restore “sanity” within the city and major hospitals, The Star reported.<\/p>\n
