{"id":45228,"date":"2020-03-07T02:00:05","date_gmt":"2020-03-07T00:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/africa-news\/west-africa\/cameroon\/world-rugby-dignitary-presents-ghana-rugby-championship-awards\/"},"modified":"2020-03-07T02:00:07","modified_gmt":"2020-03-07T00:00:07","slug":"world-rugby-dignitary-presents-ghana-rugby-championship-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/africa-news\/west-africa\/cameroon\/world-rugby-dignitary-presents-ghana-rugby-championship-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"World Rugby Dignitary Presents Ghana Rugby Championship Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrap\"><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Ghana Rugby (http:\/\/GhanaRugby.org\/) presented trophies and awards to teams and players for the 2018\/19 and 2019\/20 Ghana Rugby Club Championship (GRCC) in a ceremony in Accra Ghana that was graced with the presence of Mr Steph Nel, World Rugby Service Manager: Africa.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mr Chester Anie, Board Member: Judicial Affairs, was the MC for the event and directed affairs in an orderly fashion and encouraged participants to give the winners a big hand throughout proceedings.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was addressed by Mr Herbert Mensah, President and Board Chairman of Ghana Rugby, in the presence of Nel and two other dignitaries including World Rugby Trainer Mr Denver Wannies and Rugby Africa Development Manager: West and Central Africa, Mr Charles Yapo.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mensah congratulated all the winners and runners-up with their participation and their achievements in the past two years\u2019 GRCC and said that the standard of rugby in Ghana is gradually improving.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Nel presented medals to the 2019\/20 women\u2019s winners (Conquerors Ladies) ,runners-up (Griffons Ladies) and third placed Dansoman Hurricanes Ladies. He also presented the winners Conquerors Ladies, with the Championship Trophy.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Presiden, Herbert Mensah, presented medals and the Men\u2019s Championship Trophy to the 2019\/20 GRCC winners, Dansoman Hurricanes RFC. Medals were also presented to runners-up Griffons RFC.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mr James N.A. Nunoo, Vice President of Ghana Rugby, presented the Women\u2019s 2018\/19 trophy and medals to Conquerors Ladies. Medals were also presented to runners-up Dansoman Hurricanes Ladies and third placed Cosmos Lions RFC.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>For the 2018\/19 Men\u2019s 15s GRCC the Championship Trophy and gold medals were presented to Conquerors SC by Mr Steve Noi, Board Member and Tournament Commissioner of Ghana Rugby. He also presented medals to runners-up Dansoman Hurricanes RFC and bronze medals winners Griffons RFC.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Mensah also announced the players of the 2019\/20 GRCC.
