{"id":3784,"date":"2014-07-08T11:04:30","date_gmt":"2014-07-08T04:04:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/africa-news\/?p=3784"},"modified":"2014-07-08T11:04:42","modified_gmt":"2014-07-08T04:04:42","slug":"namibian-police-search-for-farmers-missing-head","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/africa-news\/southern-africa\/namibia\/namibian-police-search-for-farmers-missing-head\/","title":{"rendered":"Namibian Police search for farmer\u2019s missing head"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Dordabis police are looking for the missing head of a 60-year-old farmer who disappeared from his home on 30 June.<br \/>\nAbraham Jacobus Beukes\u2019 body was found by family members on Saturday \u2013 five days after his disappearance \u2013 at a farm called Kalkpan about 45 km from Rehoboth.<\/p>\n<p>Inspector Stephan Nuuyi said the body was wrapped in a blanket and that when the police arrived at the scene, the head was cut but still attached the body.<\/p>\n<p>From the fresh blood on the scene, the police said they believed Beukes was killed on the day he was found.<\/p>\n<p>Nuuyi also said the police left the body with the family members to look after the body while they went to Rehoboth for help.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen they returned to the scene, they discovered that Beukes\u2019 head was missing. Up to now, we don\u2019t know where his head is,\u201d Nuuyi said. \u201cWhen we asked them where the body was, they said they didn\u2019t know because they left the body unattended for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The police said since Beukes went missing last week Monday the family didn\u2019t report him missing.<\/p>\n<p>Beukes\u2019 family refused to comment on his disappearance, his death and the missing head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho gave you this number? Go ask that person who gave you the number to tell you the whole story and don\u2019t call this number again,\u201d an angry man, who declined to give his name, said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Beukes was a co-owner of the Kalkpan farm and someone has been arrested in connection with his death.
