{"id":29002,"date":"2018-12-18T21:15:04","date_gmt":"2018-12-18T19:15:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/africa-news\/southern-africa\/zimbabwe\/uk-zimbabwean-batsman-mark-dekker-appointed-as-lead-coach-for-kent-women\/"},"modified":"2023-01-12T18:09:20","modified_gmt":"2023-01-12T16:09:20","slug":"uk-zimbabwean-batsman-mark-dekker-appointed-as-lead-coach-for-kent-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricatoday.net\/africa-news\/southern-africa\/zimbabwe\/uk-zimbabwean-batsman-mark-dekker-appointed-as-lead-coach-for-kent-women\/","title":{"rendered":"UK: Zimbabwean batsman Mark Dekker appointed as lead coach for Kent Women"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>By KentOnline<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>KENT have appointed ex-Zimbabwean international Mark Dekker as lead coach for the county\u2019s women\u2019s team.<\/p>\n<p>Dekker, a former left-handed batsman, will start his new role when the Kent Women\u2019s squad start their winter training schedule in January.<\/p>\n<p>He will be assisted by outgoing Kent Women\u2019s player-coach, Lydia Greenway, who will provide support in an advisory role as well as covering some matchday duties.<\/p>\n<p>Dekker, a 49-year-old, who played 14 Tests and 23 ODIs for Zimbabwe in the 1990s, said: \u201cI feel privileged to be involved with the Kent Women\u2019s squad from next season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKent Women have a fantastic history of success on the field, and also in producing players that go on to represent England.
