Maputo \u2014 The Mozambican Confederation of Free and Independent Unions (Consilmo), the smaller of the country’s two union federations, has called for an increase in the statutory minimum wage to between 12,000 and 15,000 meticais (between 180 and 230 US dollars, at the current exchange rate).<\/p>\n
The current minimum wages vary by sector, with the lowest in agriculture, of approximately 5,800 meticais a month and the highest in financial services at around 16,000 meticais a month.<\/p>\n
