Today\u2014as\u00a0we celebrate 30 years\u00a0of\u00a0diplomatic relations\u00a0between the United States\u00a0and Angola\u2014we reflect on the shared values that bind our\u00a0partnership. And together, we renew our commitment to achieving our shared\u00a0vision for the world\u2014one that is more peaceful, secure, and democratic for all.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Our two countries are working together to achieve that vision.\u00a0We\u2019ve stepped up to tackle global challenges like climate change\u00a0and\u00a0to bolster peace, prosperity, and cooperation across the Atlantic region.\u00a0And,\u00a0Angola and the United States are\u00a0expanding our economic cooperation\u2014including pursuing\u00a0additional\u00a0investments\u00a0through the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment\u00a0to build quality, sustainable infrastructure that connects Angola to global markets.<\/p>\n

The United States\u00a0will\u00a0also\u00a0continue to\u00a0stand with the\u00a0Angolan government\u00a0and people to\u00a0promote\u00a0greater peace\u00a0and stability in the region\u00a0and strengthen\u00a0democratic institutions,\u00a0root out corruption, and form an inclusive political process.<\/p>\n

I look forward to deepening the partnership between our nations\u2014and friendship between our people\u2014as we forge a better future.<\/p>\n
