Even as His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma was making a passionate appeal for unity in the fight against Ebola, one of the State House employees of the President was all over social media yesterday July 2nd 2014, to make total mockery of the President’s call.
Mr. Jarrah Kawusu-Konte, the so-called manager of State House Communications Unit, stunned many around the world when, without any provocation, he chose to rain down insults on the person of Dr. Sylvia Blyden.
With absolutely no provocation from Dr. Blyden, Mr. Kawusu-Konte wrote to describe the hard working female patriot as a “chameleon” and other such unprintable, negative adjectives to the extent of saying she was an alarmist who did wrong to do what he termed as “break the news of Ebola”.
This caused many around the world to question the rationale behind the attacks on Blyden at a time when the good lady was busy out in Canada working with Sierra Leoneans to raise donations for the fight against Ebola.
It is a fact that it was not Blyden who broke the news of Ebola but rather, she had merely called for prayers for Kissi Teng people dying of strange illness that had Ebola signs…
