6, 227 People Displaced in Borno State by Boko Haram

The National Emergency Manage­ment Agency (NEMA) has said 6, 227 people have been displaced in Borno following incessant Boko Haram attacks, noting that the agency will estab­lish a central camp in Maiduguri, the state capital for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

North-East Coordinator, Maiduguri office, Mohammed Kanar, said at weekend that the agency was still taking records of the displaced people, assuring that it will set up central camp for the IDPs once proper record is taken.

“As intervention, we have distributed relief materials to the people who are currently camped at the Dalori Primary School and as soon as we set up a central camp in Maidu­guri, we will move them and other displaced persons to the camp and provide them with all they need until they are able to go back to their villages,” Kanar said…
