An 18-year-old woman from Chirumanzu, who is HIV positive, on Friday, appeared before a Gweru magistrate on allegations of sexually abusing a three-year old boy.
Tinotenda Chigora of Mangawu village under Headman Chigegwe is alleged inserted the juvenile’s manhood in her genitalia.
Magistrate Judith Taruvinga remanded Chigora, who is charged with indecent assault, in custody to the 16th of July for trial after she pleaded with the court to be medically examined since she claimed she was sick.
Prosecutors told the court that sometime in April this year, Chigora approached the boy who was playing in the neighbourhood and told him to follow her.
When they reached a secluded place, Chigora allegedly started playing with the boy’s privates before inserting them in her genitalia.
A neighbour (who was not named in court papers) saw what had happened and alerted other villagers leading to Chigora’s apprehension.
A report was later made to the police leading to her arrest.
