Chinese traders the root cause of Zambia losing its forests

SYLVIA Masebo says the current rampant illegal logging and timber trade puts Zambia’s forests at a crossroads.
Contributing to the motion moved by Rufunsa MMD member of parliament Kenneth Chipungu on saving endangered tree species, Masebo said Zambia was losing almost all its forest covers.

Under the motion, Chipungu urged the government to take immediate measures, including placing a moratorium on timber trading, to halt the cutting down of the Mukula and other tree species which are threatened with extinction.
