Namibian MP fumes at German MP over genocide

Namibia – Swapo backbencher Kazenambo Kazenambo has fumed over a statement by visiting German parliamentarian Doris Barnett that her country will no longer entertain reparations demands by Namibians for colonial atrocities.

Barnett was responding to questions whether her country has made available funds for consultations with the descendants of Namibians who were killed by German troops between 1904 and 1908.

The politician said Germany considers the subject of reparations closed.

Kazenambo this week blasted Barnett and warned of unspecified actions against Germany.
