ICAO downgraded Namibia’s only international airport

A Namibian tourism federation has called on the government to urgently intervene in the Hosea Kutako International Airport saga, as the current situation is causing untold damage to the country’s reputation.

The Federation of Namibia Tourism Associations (Fenata) said in a media statement that it was disappointed at yet another announcement that Namibia’s only international airport had again been downgraded.

As a result of the downgrade, Air Namibia can no longer operate its Airbus A330-200 fleet from Hosea Kutako until such time as the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has rectified the shortcomings to the satisfaction of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
