German flight instructor’s killers jailed

The two men convicted of killing German flight instructor Ralph Kohnke have been sentenced to an effective 20 years in prison by the High Court.

Da Costa Dumingu Zuzee, 44, and Wasuka Nunda, 40, were sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for murder, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances and five years for defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
However, Judge Nate Ndauendapo ordered that the sentences for robbery and defeating the course of justice run concurrently with the murder sentence.

Da Costa and Nunda were found guilty in August last year of murder with direct intent.

The killing took place on December 26, 2005.

The burned remains of the deceased were found on December 29, 2005 in the Goreangab Dam area. The deceased was struck with a brick on the head and sustained a skull fracture.
