Genocide victims to meet in Botswana

OvaHerero and OvaMbanderu communities from Namibia and South Africa will this coming weekend join their compatriots in Botswana to discuss reparations for colonial atrocities committed by Germany against their ancestors.

This was confirmed by Otjiserandu (Red Flag) spokesperson in Botswana, Tjiumbu Tjimuinjo, to Namibian Sun yesterday.

“We will indeed discuss the issue if reparations with our brothers and sisters from Namibia and South Africa on the way forward to the payment,” Tjimuinjo said.

Speaking from Botswana, he indicated that the demand for reparations will make up most of the deliberations this coming Saturday.

“People will start arriving at Tsau as from today, but the official welcoming will happen on Friday, and the main commemorations and discussions will take place on Saturday to Sunday.”…
