Cairo – Egypt’s Armed Forces and police forces have jointly arrested 18 suspects during crackdowns in North Sinai, Ismailia and Daqahliya, said an army spokesman.
Egypt’s police and armed forces have been cracking down on militants who have taken to targeting police and army elements and installations since former President Mohamed Mursi was ousted last July.
Ten suspects were arrested in North Sinai, six in Daqahliya and two in Ismailia, Brigadier-General Mohamed Samir said on his Facebook page on Saturday.
