Egypt: Maya Morsi Wins Membership of Cedaw

Maya Morsi, head of the National Council of Women (NCW), has won the membership of the The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) for the period of 2023-2026 after obtaining 126 votes of the elections held at the UN premises in New York.

Egypt’s Mission to the UN said CEDAW comprises 23 experts who have vast qualifications and outstanding expertise in the women-related issues.
